The Use of Infant Sleep Positioners

The FDA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), are now saying that using infant sleep positioners are dangerous to babies. There have been reported in infants 1 to 4 months of age. The FDA has contacted the makers of these products and have asked them to stop marketing them unless they can prove that any benefit would out weigh any risk of suffocation. 1. I might have to agree with this one. We used a sleeper for Zo and for most of the time it was great... until she became more wiggly. Many times we were awoken to blood curdling screams only to find that Zo had fallen off her sleeper with her body still stuck in it, but her head hanging off the side... literally upside down. She was blue in the face.

Or even she slid down it and was tangled in her blankets with her feet all the way touching her chest b/c she slid to the end of the pnp.

I got too worried so we stopped using it.

  2. I had one on my registry until I started reading reports of them being issues. I was really surprised.

    BTW thanks for the comment!
