The Potty Boot Camp: Review and Giveaway

When I first started thinking about potty training Goose, I had no clue where to start.  I had never trained a child to use the potty, and I figured I could just lean on what I have learned in my years of helping house break puppies.  HAHAHA right?

Well, soon into training, I found myself and my toddler very frustrated.  She would go to the potty just fine and then a few days later, she would start peeing and pooping like she was still in diapers.  Then one day, I had enough, and just went back to cloth diapers.

She was not even two yet, and so at her 2 year old check up, I talked to her doctor about what was happening.  He told me not to worry about it, and that she would eventually potty train.  Well, I wasn't 100% convinced on what he was telling me, since for days she would do great and then suddenly regress.

So this went on until she was like 2 1/2, and that's when I asked a mom's groups how they potty trained their kids.  They all agreed that introducing the potty, then letting the kids run around without any pants on for a few days really worked.  So I tried it.  Goose was already familiar with the potty, but I just let her run around necked for a few days, and she finally caught on.  When she started telling me that she need to go potty, I put her in undies, and didn't look back.

Then recently I heard about an eBook called "The Potty Boot Camp" by Suzanne Riffel.  Suzanne Riffel has taken all the most recommended potty training methods and put them all into a book that is only 40 pages long!  I read it while Goose was taking a nap, so it is very easy to read.

The book starts off my explaining what the author found while doing research on potty training.  Then it moves onto explain what potty boot camp is, psychology and timing with potty training, how to prep for potty training (yes you have to prep before you start potty training), then you move on to what to do on day one and so on.

"The Potty Book Camp" also offers advice for the stubborn child (which I have) and the child who has a fear of the potty.  If you still need more help beyond what the book offers, Suzanne will even provide one on one coaching via email.  What other potty training program offers that?!

So after reading this book last night, I am pretty much kicking myself for not reading it when I started the potty journey with Goose.  At $14.99 for the program, things on our part could have been so much less stressful.

I want to thank The Potty Boot Camp and Suzanne Riffel for proving me with this eBook free of charge to review and then a copy to give to one lucky winner as well.  The words in this review are 100% my own, and even though your opinion may differ from mine,  I was in now way paid to write a positive review.  The Potty Boot Camp will be responsible for prize fulfillment.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
