Woolzies Dryer Balls Review and Giveaway

Right before "Goose" was born, I decided that I would start trying to eliminate harmful chemicals from our daily lives.  I had no clue how hard this would be, and what things contain chemicals.

I was recently made aware of the long list of harmful chemicals (here is one of the sites that I recently read about the issue Click here) that can be found in some dryer sheets, and after a complete freak out, I started searching for a more natural alternative.  I came upon things like vinegar and baking soda, but nothing I tried really got the static cling out.  So, I figured it was either static cling or chemicals.  Tough choice.

Then one day while searching for something else, I came upon wool dryer balls. Wool dryer balls?  If you have never heard of them, they are actually really great.  What they are is wool (like yarn or felted wool) that has been wrapped around and around until it makes a ball about the size of a tennis ball.

Then I asked myself, how do they work?  From what I've read, the wool kind of absorbs the static cling, and reduces drying time, so clothes don't sit in your dryer rubbing against each other causing a static charge.

What are some more benefits you may ask yourself, well here is a list I found on the Woolzies dryer ball website:

  • Reduces Wrinkles
  • Dye free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Won't damage your dryer
So, when the opportunity came up for me to test the wool dryer balls made by Woolzies, I jumped on it.

The company that makes Woolzies, Soft by Nature, Inc., sent me a pack of six Woolzies to try out, and give my honest opinion on.  The first day I got the Woolzies, I tried them.  Here is what I discovered through my own observations:

  • No smell.
  • Little to no static cling
  • Reduced drying time
  • On the box it says that they are noise free.  I disagree.  While there is some noise caused by the Woolzies, it is a lot better than any harmful chemicals being in my daughter's laundry.
  • Soft by Nature, Inc, claims that they will last for 1,000 loads (guaranteed), so that and the reduced drying time is actually going to save my family money.

If you are one of these people who loves to have your laundry have a fresh smell when you get it out of the dryer, I've read that you can add a few drops of essential oils to the Woolzies.  I've not tried it, so I can not tell you how well it works.  For me, it smells fine the way that it is.

Do you still have questions about the Woolzies dryer balls?  Check out their website or take a look at the FAQ page they include on the box.

Overall, I would recomend these to anyone, but with a 4.5 star review on Amazon, I would say I am not the only one who loves the Woolzies dryer balls.

Here is what comes in the box along with the six dryer balls and the FAQ sheet...

Now for the fun part!  Soft By Nature, Inc, is letting give me away one 6 pack of the Woolzies to one of my lovely readers (yay)!  That way you can try them out for yourself, and don't have to take my word for it.  Enjoy, and I wish you all the best of luck!
